PERSONALITY OVER TREND
Salone del Mobile di Milano 2018
Last year we came back to Barcelona with the clear ideas; the combination of fine and ecological materials stood out and geometric designs were a big surprise. Two highlights that defined the path of interior design last year. The second version of Salone del Mobile in Milan was simply unclassifiable.
The brands and houses have surely found they key to success. Or, should we say… different keys? Each of them have expressed their own personality and revealed their roots, putting aside the ‘new fashion trends everyone’s about’. Among brands like Diesel Living, Hermes or Louis Vuitton and design firms like Nendo, Super Studio or Dimore Studio ,
We have selected the designs that got us reflecting and… why not? Falling in love… Haven’t been there? Time to enjoy it. Been there? Time to relive the amazing experience!
SIGNATURE DIESEL LIVING
Playing around the house and winning. The company established in Milan in 1978 invested in a green space with an industrial touch. It’s an oxymoron mixing those two elements, but they manage to coexist and to become the centre of attention, with a sophisticated yet functional style.
As always, Hermès. Hermès, as always; excellent. Lighting was emphasized through small, interesting cubic spaces. Fine craftsmanship when it comes to colour palettes, and a beautiful Moroccan influence we thoroughly enjoyed, with handmade finishes.
SIGNATURE LOUIS VUITTON
If there’s one thing everyone talked about, it was Louis Vuitton’s flowers. It was trending on everyone’s Instagram. And it´s no surprise –an impressive unfolding of origamis exhibited in the first room of the Palace in flower forms. Which were repeated everywhere in their exhibition, taking it to the next level, in leather. An excpetional experience.
From Barcelona to Milan to surprise us with their furniture design. In sobriety we trust. In black and white, too.
Coming from Japan, but speaking an international language. After their futurist clock last year, their installation this year could not be better. We remember all the details. Because good things come in small doses
SIGNATURE ANTONIO MARRAS
We declare Marras fans. We could see the space and imagine their clothes in it. Industrial spaces filled with decadent, vintage scenes that hypnotized. Exhibits that could well be part of a museum. Let the pictures carry you away
Like we said, we like detail. And Swarovski do too. Exhibit A: this glass creation that combines with other, equally elegant elements and materials
We’ve already admired it at ImaginCafé, the new, creative co-working space in Barcelona, and it feels like we’ll get more and more chances to admire it. The showroom of the Italian brand was a banking branch and one day it was suddenly gone. The excellent illumination work stood out, as well as the sophisticated locking system.

SIGNATURE STUDIO DIMORE
Concept, concept and more concept. Sensations, sensations and more sensations. That is what this studio in Milan offers. If you don’t stop and admire it, you´ll be missing a real treat. Pure message.
SIGNATURE MISSONI HOME
For a house to become home you need to live it… and dress it in Missoni Home. Their proposals have personality. And they are original, very original. We loved the animals that hung from the high ceiling.
